Terms of Service

AppSaaz Automated GST Invoice, by AppSaaz Labs · Last updated October 3, 2026

These terms govern your use of AppSaaz Automated GST Invoice ("the app", "we", "us"), a Shopify app that generates GST-compliant tax invoices, credit notes, debit notes, and GSTR-1/GSTR-3B return filing exports for Indian merchants, and can file GSTR-1 on the GST portal once you approve it. By installing the app you agree to these terms and to Shopify's own Merchant Terms of Service, which govern the underlying platform.

What the app does — and does not do

The app automates the mechanical work of GST document generation and return-export formatting based on the order, customer, and product data your Shopify store provides, and settings you configure (GSTIN, HSN codes, tax rates, numbering format).

The app can make mistakes. Check every figure before you file.

The app works out invoices, credit notes, debit notes and GST return figures automatically. A figure can be wrong because of an error in the app, wrong or missing data in your Shopify store, a wrong setting, or a change in GST rules. The app is not a chartered accountant, tax advisor or legal service, and nothing it shows is tax advice.

You are responsible for checking every document and every return figure before you file it or rely on it. This applies whether you download a file and upload it to the GST portal yourself, or file from inside the app. When in doubt, ask a qualified tax professional before filing.

We are not liable for any tax, interest, late fee, penalty, fine, notice or other loss that arises from the app's figures or documents, including figures that are wrong because of a mistake in the app. The section "Mistakes, penalties and limitation of liability" below sets this out in full.

Filing from inside the app

Where your plan includes it, the app can send your GSTR-1 to the GST portal and file it once you approve. The return is always yours. It is filed under your GSTIN, with your portal login, and signed by your authorised signatory with a one-time code sent to their own registered mobile. Before the final step, the app shows the figures the GST portal has worked out. Filing only happens when you enter that code and confirm. By doing so, you confirm that you have checked those figures and accept them as correct.

A filed return cannot be withdrawn. A mistake found later can only be corrected through an amendment in a later return, and any tax, interest or penalty that results is yours to pay.

Accounts and eligibility

You must be a Shopify merchant with a valid Shopify account to install this app, and you're responsible for keeping your store's connection to the app secure. You represent that any GSTIN, business name, and address you enter in Settings are accurate and that you have the authority to configure tax settings for the store.

Plans and billing

Three plans: Free, Pro and Scale. Pro is US$9.99 and Scale US$19.99 every 30 days, billed through Shopify. Stores installed before the plans began keep everything they had, at no charge, for good.

Your data

You own the data you put into the app and the documents it generates for your store. We process it only as described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference. Generated invoices, credit notes, and debit notes are retained even after uninstalling or requesting data erasure, because Indian GST law requires merchants to keep these records for several years — see the Privacy Policy for the full explanation.

Data processing agreement

This section forms our data processing agreement (DPA) and applies whenever the app processes personal data of your customers on your behalf.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the app's source code beyond what Shopify's platform itself allows; use the app to generate fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate tax documents; interfere with the app's operation or attempt to bypass plan limits through technical means; or use the app in a way that violates Shopify's Acceptable Use Policy or applicable law.

Mistakes, penalties and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise that any document, figure, export or return the app produces, sends or files is correct or complete, or that the GST portal or any tax authority will accept it. You are responsible for checking it before you file it or rely on it.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any of the following, however it arises, including from an error, bug, outage or wrong calculation in the app itself:

Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 3 months before the claim arose (which is nothing, on the Free plan or as an early-access store).

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, such as liability for fraud.

Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, misuse the app, or fail to pay for a subscribed plan. On uninstall, operational data is deleted automatically per our Privacy Policy; statutory tax records are retained as required by law.

Changes to these terms

We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever these terms change. For any change that materially affects your rights or obligations, we'll email connected merchants at their Shopify-registered account email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer or data-protection rights you may have under the law of your own country.
